Q: Does Medicare coverage include any home health care costs? What about Long Term Care insurance or Veteran Benefits?
A: While Medicare benefits cover most therapy and skilled nursing, they do not pay for custodial in home care. However, Long Term Care Insurance is a great way to pay for home health services. Our specialists review your policy and assist you in qualifying for and receiving payments.
If your loved one or their spouse was ever a veteran who survived during wartime, they could be eligible for more than $1,800 per month in benefits for in home care. Give us a call and we’ll help you determine if your loved one qualifies.
Q: Am I tied into a home health agency contract for a certain length of time?
A: No. You and your requirements are unique, as is every one of our valued clients, so a minimum contract just doesn’t make sense. Your home health services are based on your needs, not our bottom line.
Q: Are there a minimum number of home healthcare hours required?
A: No, in fact, sometimes the in home care you need can be completed in less than one hour.
Q: Does it cost more for in home care during nights and weekends? Holidays?
A: We like to keep it simple for you, so we only charge one rate for days, nights and weekends. The only exceptions are New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, July Fourth, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas which are billed at one and a half times the normal rate.
Q: Are your in home caregivers independent contractors or employees?
A: Every Harmony Home Health in home caregiver is a direct employee. That means we pay all applicable payroll taxes and cover their Workers’ compensation insurance, minimizing your liability. Q: How do you hire in home caregivers?
A: Given our founder’s personal history with in home caregivers, and our family-oriented approach, we only employ in home caregivers we’d feel comfortable hiring to help our own mothers and grandmothers. The ideal caregiver has both competence and compassion. Our rigorous screening process starts with a Wonderlic Performance Assessment so we get a solid understanding of their knowledge, skills, and abilities. We also perform a comprehensive criminal background check, motor vehicle history check, reference checks and provide extensive training.
Q: How do you go about matching me with one of your in home caregivers?
A: Continuity of care is important so we strive to make sure you’re matched with someone you trust and are comfortable with. We carefully select your in home caregiver from our large pool of compassionate, highly trained professionals based on personality, skill set, geography and availability.
Q: What if the caregiver you send isn’t a good fit?
A: It’s rare, but it you’re not extremely satisfied with your in home caregiver for any reason, all you have to do is call and we’ll make the necessary changes.
